USPHL Elite Players Of The Week: South Region

Forward: Brayden Taylor, Hampton Roads Whalers

The lifelong Whaler from nearby Virginia Beach currently leads the Whalers with nine points through 10 games in his third USPHL season. Taylor posted two regulation time goals plus one shootout goal and an assist over the Jersey Hitmen in a weekend sweep up north. 


Defense: Matthew Warrington, Charlotte Rush

Another USPHL veteran, Warrington (‘02/Merrimack, N.H.) registered a goal and three assists to help the Rush in their weekend sweep of Nashville. He additionally was a +3 with 11 takeaways on the weekend. 


Goaltender: Evan Crawford, Charlotte Rush

The junior rookie Crawford (‘04/Greenwich, Conn.) improved to 3-0 in the young season with a 21-save shutout against the Nashville Spartans on Oct. 1.

Both teams faced Hurricane Ian head on as it made landfall on Sept. 28 as a Category 4 hurricane just north of Fort Myers (home of the Florida Eels) and about 25 miles north of Estero, Fla. (home of the Florida Jr. Blades).
