USPHL Elite Players OF The Week: North Region

North Division

Forward: Quirino DoCanto, Bridgewater Jr Bandits

Taking on the Rockets, Jersey Hitmen, and Richmond Generals; DoCanto (‘02/Wareham, Mass.) was a force this weekend, scoring twice against the Rockets and once against the defending National Champion Richmond Generals, bringing his point total to seven. 

 

Defense: Joshua Page, Northern Cyclones

Against the P.A.L Jr Islanders Joshua Page helped get the win by posting two goals. Overall, the second-year ‘03 out of Wake Forest, N.C., has three goals and an assist in five games. 

 

Goaltender: Luca Bruns, Bridgewater Jr Bandits

Bruns (‘03/Sydney, Australia) faced the Jersey Hitmen on Saturday, and the defending National Champion Richmond Generals on Sunday, defeating them both. He had 86 saves on 88 shots, helping the Bandits to two of their three wins over the Rockets Hockey Club Showcase weekend.

 

Mid-Atlantic Division 

Forward: John Crowdell, Rockets Hockey Club 

John Crowdell (‘03/Staten Island, N.Y.) had four goals and two assists in the Rockets Hockey Club-hosted showcase this past weekend giving him a 10-10-20 line in eight games for a 2.5 points per game average.

 

Defense: Peter Allen, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

Allen (‘06/Oceanside, N.Y.) had 2 assists in their game while taking on the Junior Bruins helping to take the win for P.A.L., and he also posted two more assists in their game Monday against the Potomac Patriots. 

 

Goaltender: Matej Polacek, Rockets Hockey Club

Polacek (‘06/Whitehouse Station, N.J.) went 1-1  on the weekend with 23 saves on 24 shots in a win vs. the Springfield Pics and 30 saves on 34 shots vs. the Hampton Roads Whalers for a total of 53 saves on 58 shots. He holds a 2-1-0-0 record with a 2.01 goals against average and a .929 save percentage.
